I know, I know... my French is APPALLING!

The fact that I KNEW that Westone were not producing guitars in the 1970s probably closed my mind to the possibility of it saying that the guitar was "from the 1970s".Gavin Lloyd Wilsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10937598384359522498noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3734566.post-74978094723904693502012-06-06T04:19:40.018+01:002012-06-06T04:19:40.018+01:00What you refer to as "70 Years" in the o...What you refer to as "70 Years" in the original French of the advert is "annees 70" which actually just means "from the 70s" or even just "70s", meaning the decade of manufacture not any model name. Further down the page the seller obviously has found out it's actually from 1981 (presumably from the serial number) as he puts "GUITARE DE 1981 EXACTEMENT MERCI" = "guitar is actually from 1981 thanks". Finally my A-level French has been of some use! Hope this helps.MartinFhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07695738552095747452noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3734566.post-41007923206469893012012-06-06T02:21:25.082+01:002012-06-06T02:21:25.082+01:00At a guess, "From the 1970s."At a guess, "From the 1970s."CODhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04031800637119867463noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3734566.post-91366209294579904392012-06-06T00:59:37.450+01:002012-06-06T00:59:37.450+01:00He just means that the guitar is probably from the...He just means that the guitar is probably from the seventies, not seventy years old !Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06466907235677664512noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3734566.post-72171846542995740262012-06-05T23:10:31.254+01:002012-06-05T23:10:31.254+01:00In French, we say "les annés soixante-dix&quo...In French, we say "les annés soixante-dix" to say "the seventies." It translates directly as "the 70 years," but you wouldn't actually say it that way unless your English needs some working on. So, the guy thinks his guitar dates from the 70s.-p.https://www.blogger.com/profile/03532660455881761931noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3734566.post-6521514413119178742012-06-05T22:57:00.880+01:002012-06-05T22:57:00.880+01:00I'd guess that it's a mistranslation of &#...I'd guess that it's a mistranslation of '1970s' rather than '70 years'.
