Adradic seaside band from 1966 The Blue Stars. Is that a Jolana bass?(Adriatic?)
I'm not sure what the bass is, it looks like it might be Italian, although I guess it could just as easily be of East European origin. Come to think of it, I'm not even sure what the two guitars are either. If anyone can identify any of the guitars in this photo, we'd love to know!

DeleteI once had a Framus bass with a body shape and headstock very similar to that. No binding on the neck or fancy markers though.
ReplyDeleteas this group has german equipment (see the Schaller amp on the right,I'd tend to say Framus as well. By the way those amps are really very good (Mr Schaller,father and founder of the firm was a friend of Leo Fender and they shared many projects)
ReplyDeleteThe guy on the left is my father, Ivan Pongracic, Jr. He is holding a '65-'66 Hofner 172 (Strat-like) guitar, with two pickups. It was a sunburst. He was also the owner of the Schaller amps. He was importing a lot of instruments from Germany (including some Fenders, coming through Germany) into Yugoslavia in the mid-'60s. He's not sure about the bass, or the other guitar. It's quite possible that the bass is a Framus of some sort, though he has no idea. Hope that helps!
