An Epiphone neck attached to... What on Earth is THAT supposed to be?

guitarz.blogspot.com:

Do you think someone actually consciously DESIGNED this guitar body?

My guess is that it's the result of randomly cutting out shapes from a piece of wood with a jigsaw. It does have a vague heraldic look to it, but I'm sure that is through accident rather than design.

Currently listed on eBay UK with a quite astonishingly optimistic Buy It Now price of £500.

    1. Did you look at the rest of the pics? There's no truss rod cover, the machine heads look a bit dogy and the strings are passed through the wrapround bridge, bypassing the saddles completely. The position of the bridge looks a bit suspect too.
I think this definitely comes under the "hopeful amateur" heading.
Apparently it's a "Melten Lava Tiger". Maybe that bit sticking out of the bottom edge is the ear...

    2. Crikey, I was so blinded by the dreadful body shape that I didn't even notice those other defects.

  2. Assuming you could even get it to play in tune (which seems unlikely), unless you have hands like Hendrix or Joe Walsh you can forget about playing past the 18th fret.

    1. I've never really worried about that playing up at the top of the neck stuff, but then I've never been one of the widdly widdly brigade anyway. For most people I really don't think it would be a problem. Mind, this guitar has other more serious issues as David has already pointed out in these comments!

  3. I like the finish But the failure to string the bridge correctly is appalling. The shape well it's wacky alright. The seller has some more "interesting custom jobs too including an even more extreme central body cutaway than that deadlight guitar!

    1. Yes, we already looked at that poor Telecaster that he took a jigsaw to:

  5. Great modern sculpture.definetely not really an instrument...a simple tailpiece and no proper bridge but It could look good in a living room with some Gieger paintings(remember Alien)...and black wallpaper or paint!
