Ok, not to sound like a negative nancy, but what the hell? I know many guitars (including early Fenders) were accused of being "planks of wood," but this is LITERALLY a plank of wood.
ReplyDeleteI know scarcity is a selling point, as the seller points out in the listing, "They were introduced at the summer NAMM show in Chicago in ’67 where zero orders were produced." Maybe there's a reason for that?
I am genuinely curious. Why does what is essentially a piece of folk art - just a step above a Wishnevsky - warrant such an outrageous price? I mean, even early Steinbergers had something unique to offer. This is a neck bolted onto a 2x4 with a couple pickups slapped on.
Looks very unique and good. It should be very lightweight too. But I don't like the large knobs and the aluminium plate that covers the knobs.
