We've already seen a Jolana Superstar here one year ago, but it was in a poor state, so I take the opportunity to present the real thing - and you can see here how peculiar this Czechoslovakian guitar is, with its Japanese-style planck body, its massive and unique bridge and pickups and its too many controls.. I'd be curious to hear how it sounds, because it is strangely attractive...

DeleteReminds me of a Yamaha SG1000 except for those chunky pickups. Ithink the pickups are the best feature after the body shape

DeleteThe pickups, bridge, and the layout of the controls remind me of a Peavey T-60. I wonder if the pickups have the same tone control/coil tap feature.
ReplyDeleteThe pickups are standard Jolana fare and appeared on their guitars and basses. My own Jolana Disco has one of these pickups centre-mounted, see http://guitarz.blogspot.com/2011/11/1980s-soviet-era-czechoslovakian-made.html (may need to copy & paste that URL or just type "Jolana Disco" into the search box at the top of the page).

ReplyDeleteHi, Just enquiring, whether the size of the frets need be standard. I am kinda bored with the fret size. I had a different thing in mind, more of lesser sized frets and in tandem with the music. I understand I might achieve an octave styled neck. Also, the neck maybe shorter in size and varied from standards. Any idea if u or companies or is it patented to have custom-made guitars?
