I've previously seen some of the rather bizarrely-shaped early guitar offerings from Yamaha as 6-string electrics, but this is the first time I've clapped eyes (if only of a photograph) of one of their basses from the same time period. Dating from 1970 the
Yamaha SB-1C Short-Scale Bass is certainly a very distinctive looking instrument.
I own one. Bright orange color though. I think it was purchased in a pawn shop in california somewhere back in the early 70's. No prominence available, but it does have a serial number on high end of fret board. Any interest for this rare piece?
