The Scant Regard plays Kraftwerk's "The Model" on the Teisco Spectrum 5

guitarz.blogspot.com:

Here at Guitarz quirky old Japanese-made guitars like the near legendary Teisco Spectrum 5 are held in very high esteem, so it's great to see one of these idiosyncratic 1960s twang-machines in action courtesy of Will of The Scant Regard!

By the way, I've been playing a guitar version of Kraftwerk's "The Model" with a band I play with, but now I'm beginning to wish that our arrangement was more like the above.

  1. It's very strange because I also played this one (and sang it) this year but in a more "shadows/Hank Marvin" version and using an Höfner. This melody, to me, is like an archetype of 50's and 60's music. That's probably why Kraftwerk use old fashion films on stage and in the original video clip. It gives the song a timeless quality...Great version anyway

  3. While i liked this instrumental version, the Big Black (producer Steve Albini's mid to late 80s anti-rock band) version rules. Big Black also did a great cover of Wire's Heartbeat.
