What's that guitar that a young Jimi Hendrix is playing?...

Looks like an Epiphone Wilshire (circa 1960-62) to me.

  1. Yeah, a Wilshire or Crestwood I would think. I could go look it up in an actual book, but that would be too much like work. :)

  3. Definitely a 1961 Wilshire. Models with soapbar P-90s are extremely scarce:

  4. What a great shot! Certainly looks like an Epiphone Wilshire. Got a trem too - you can see Jimi has folded the bar back over the bridge, and the old style tailpiece is just visible...
    Also - is that some sort of block inlay around fret 17? Fascinating!
