This isn't just another bog standard "relic job". It's a Fender Custom Shop "Brick" Telecaster. I'll let the eBay seller explain:

This is one of three ever created and below is a description of the guitar and its builder, it comes with a certificate from Fender and has been played by Roger Waters who also signed it. It was build by Fender to celebrate Pink Floyd's "The Wall", they put a lot of thought into it and all three were made by hand so in reality each one is unique as there are slight changes to each one.

This Guitar was flown to New York to Roger Waters home where he signed it for me, he commented on the sound of the guitar on how unusual it was plus the attention to detail that Fender had put into the making of this guitar which he thought was unbelievable as he was very impressed.

This custom Telecaster was created by Fender Master Builder Paul Waller, who, throughout his 9 years of dedicated work at Fender, has created custom guitars for artists such as U2’s Adam Clayton and Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood!

This incredible guitar is 1 of only 3 that Paul built for the 2004 NAMM show - one of which went straight into Paul’s own personal collection. The body and neck feature an entirely hand crafted 3D design, whilst the ebony (yes, ebony!) fingerboard continues the brick theme with a highly detailed inlay. To top it all off the guitar has been authentically aged, enhancing the overall character and understated charm of what is quite possibly one of Fender’s most interesting creations.

Jeff Beck signed one-off Ford '34 Coupé Custom Electric Guitar by Steve Acworth

Here's a one-off guitar originally built for Jeff Beck in 1992 by UK luthier Steve Acworth. Jeff Beck famously has a passion for hot rod cars, so it should come as no surprise that the guitar reflects this in its design. You can find more information on Steve's website, and also info on his other guitar builds, many of which are quite intriguing (e.g. Formica-topped acoustic guitars which apparently don't like having a bridge glued on for long, sitar guitars, and an amazing looking instrument called The Multiharp).

Quite why Jeff Beck doesn't still own the Ford '34 Coupé guitar is not explained, but the man himself has signed the guitar, and it is currently being offered for sale on eBay with a whopping Buy It Now price of £21,500.

Vintage & Rare guitar of the week: Roy Rogers and Dale Evans jumbo acoustic

Currently being sold by The Guitar Doctor, USA via Vintage & Rare is this Roy Rogers and Dale Evans Jumbo Art Tribute Guitar by Greg Rich, and apparently this is the only example made actually signed by both Roy and Dale.

As well as the painted top and back, the guitar features some appropriately OTT cowboy inlay work on the fingerboard and headstock.

I'm not personally a fan of old Western movies but I do find myself drawn to this guitar, most likely for its kitsch value.

The following video proves that it's not just an "art" guitar, but is a player too!

Hofner Violin Bass selling for £12,995.00

This Hofner Violin Bass has quite a hefty price tag on it, and you'd be correct in thinking there may be a McCartney connection but as a righty you can guess it's not one that he's owned.

However the bass has had its fair share of muso owners, among them Marco Nelson (The Style Council), Damon Minchella (Ocean Colour Scene) and Paul Weller, and it has appeared on quite a few recorded works by each of those artists including Weller's first two solo albums. As well as all this history, the bass has been signed by the world's best known exponent of this style of bass guitar, Sir Paul McCartney himself.

If interested and you've got the cash, snap it up now, because if it doesn't sell on eBay it's going to be auctioned at Christie's.

Gene Simmons autographed Westone Warlock bass

This Gene Simmons autographed Westone Warlock bass is quite neat, as apparently he won't sign guitars any more. Being a Westone it ought to be a nice quality instrument too. I had a Westone Thunder I-A fretless bass years back and it was a fantastic bass. I always regret getting rid of that one.

Pictured below is another bass that looks like it should (or could) be played by the Kiss bassmeister himself. Apparently it's a Toshiya bass (never heard of them) and to my eyes it looks as if the design has been based on a left-handed Rickenbacker.

Who signed Susan Tedeschi's Telecaster?

Listening to Susan Tedeschi's 2005 album "Just Won't Burn" yesterday, and glancing at the cover, I noticed that her Telecaster has been signed by someone. I can make out the "To Susan..." part but can't read the rest. It looks like the first part of the name is in quotes. (Click here for a enlargement).

Does anyone know whose signature this is? It could be someone I've never heard of, I appreciate that, but I'm just curious.

And just to confuse the issue further, I found other photos of Susan's Tele - including this one - where the same guitar is absolutely covered in signatures. So, firstly, whose signatures are they, and secondly, is this photo more recent than that on the cover of "Just Won't Burn" or vice versa? Were the (other) signatures removed before the Winnie the Pooh stickers went on or were they a more recent addition?

Anyone?

UPDATE: Alli thinks that the main signature may be "Gatemouth" Brown. (See the comments).

"Only Fools and Horses" Reliant Super Van MkIII guitar

From the seller of yesterday's BSA engine casing guitar also comes this guitar based on the delapidated 3-wheeler van used by Rodney and Del Boy Trotter in top-rated BBC sitcom "Only Fools and Horses".

Strangely, it's been signed by diverse artists such as The Arctic Monkeys, Rik Savage of Def Leppard, Yngwie Malmsteen, Michael Angelo, Paul Carrack, and many others. I wouldn't have thought some of those would even have known what the guitar was supposed to represent. Unless Yngwie is a secret Only Fools and Horses fan. Who knows?

Personally, I'd have preferred to have seen it signed by David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst.

Kyle Petty signed Gretsch 6120 up for grabs

Here's one for fans of NASCAR and for fans of Gretsch guitars. This beautiful Gretsch 6120 guitar, donated by the Gretsch company, has been signed by NASCAR star Kyle Petty and is due to appear on a well-known auction site on Thursday, 10 July.

All proceeds will benefit the 14^th Anniversary Chick-fil-A Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America, which raises funds for and awareness of Victory Junction Gang Camp and other children's charities.
