Oddly-shaped (but quite appealing) DM bass guitar

I'm not aware of the guitar brand "DM" but according to the seller of this DM Bass it's a "cheaply made Chinese instrument". I can imagine that the bold body shape is not for everyone, but personally I quite like it.

Does sort of look like an ink blot the designer then went - "Well you never know..."
ReplyDeleteRefinish it in metallic gold flake and you've got an awesome bass for a funk band.
ReplyDeleteI always like it when the neck and head are rather big, proportionally. For instance a baritone Jaguar is in my eyes better looking than a normal Jaguar guitar. This bass definitely makes that happen.
ReplyDeleteOn another note, I think it would be a great idea for all posts reffering to an online auction, to add the selling price. Sometimes when I read an old post and the auction is long gone, I really wonder how much it went for.

I have been including online auction/Buy It Now prices for the last couple of years now. Older entries in the archive won't have them - it didn't occur to me at the time - but I now think it's important to include prices so as to give the idea of a guitar's worth (or perceived worth) bearing in mind that this blog will become an archive of guitar informatmation in years to come. Unfortunately I rarely have the time to go back and check the finished auctions and see what guitars ACTUALLY sold for.
