McPherson Jumbo Acoustic

guitarz.blogspot.com:

Following on from Bertram's recent post about a Hoyer Jazz guitar with triple soundholes, here is another guitar with an unusual configuration of three soundholes. Appparently, it is a Japanese-made McPherson jumbo acoustic (this example is currently being offered for sale on eBay). Other than that, I'm afraid I know nothing about it.

As ever, if anyone reading has any additional information, please use the comments below this post. Thanks.

I have been looking into these guitars as I have a client with one and it needs a neck reset. There is not a lot of info around. These were originally designed by Matt McP and his dad and built in their garage in Sparta Wisc. There was apparently a parting of ways and the elder McP contracted with a factory in Japan to produce these. I believe about 3000 were made, the one I have been working on is srieal # 80. Any info you obtain would be great if you care to share...leomwhitebird@gmail.com

Matt McP and his dad designed and built these in the late 70's until production was moved to japan. Younger mcp disavows any knowledge about the instruments. I am trying to find the factory that produced them or some drawings as a client of mine has one that needs a neck reset. Any Ideas anyone?
